Technology
For the 2026 model year, the Nissan Kicks made its largest infotainment display standard equipment. Every model now includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, along with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration. The Corolla Cross starts with an 8-inch touchscreen, and even its available 10.5-inch display still doesn't match the size of the standard Kicks system.
Higher Kicks trims add an available 12.3-inch digital instrument display, while the Intelligent Around View® Monitor provides a virtual 360-degree perspective around the vehicle to assist with maneuvering in tight spaces. The Corolla Cross doesn't offer a comparable surround-view camera system.
Performance, Capability, and Value
The Corolla Cross produces more horsepower on paper, but that advantage doesn't necessarily translate to quicker acceleration. In Car and Driver testing, an all-wheel-drive Kicks reached 60 mph in 9.0 seconds, two-tenths quicker than the publication recorded for an all-wheel-drive gas Corolla Cross.
New for the 2027 model year, the Kicks Rock Creek gets rugged design details and comes standard with all-wheel drive, a raised roof rack with crossbars, an exclusive Off-Road driving mode, and Hill Descent Control. The Toyota Corolla Cross doesn't offer a similar configuration.
Even with all the above advantages, the Nissan Kicks still represents a better value proposition, offering a starting MSRP around $2,500 below the Toyota Corolla Cross.
